Not only will you be taught by a well-established and experienced group of staff, but our 6th Form will provide you with a challenging and highly professional experience that is proudly the pinnacle of the school.
Our Sixth Form has been judged to be Outstanding following a rigorous inspection process on 22nd and 23rd May 2024. This outcome is testament to the high-quality provision that is on offer in our Sixth Form, and the dedication of both our staff and students in ensuring that teaching, learning and enrichment opportunities are consistently of the highest calibre.
The OFSTED report highlights the exceptional educational and personal development opportunities that are on offer to our students in the Sixth Form, that make our establishment such a positive and unique environment for students to study in for their Post-16 educational journey:
- “The Sixth Form is a key strength of the school. Students achieve very well in their Sixth Form studies and benefit from an extensive range of wider opportunities preparing them well for adulthood and further study”.
- “Students in the Sixth Form achieve very well. They have positive attitudes towards their education. This is because teachers set high expectations for students’ learning and consistently check they are learning the key knowledge needed”.

Our Key Stage 5 results since the academic year of 2018/19 have been excellent, both our A Level and Level 3 BTEC results placed Highams Park
School within the top 25% of Post-16 education providers nationally for student progress during this time. In 2024 we were placed in the top 20% of the country for progress, and received the best results for Level 3 across Waltham Forest. This led to us being awarded a Gold Award by ALPs for outstanding student process.
Three key factors behind these outstanding results are firstly, the hard working and dedicated nature of the students who join our 6th Form; secondly, our highly experienced teaching staff who are all specialists in their subjects; and thirdly, our purpose built 6th Form facilities, that includes dedicated 6th Form classrooms and 3 separate 6th Form study areas, supporting our students in becoming independent learners.
Students are supported to quickly develop the skills and attitude to adjust to life in our Sixth Form. The transition from year 11 into year 12 is strategically planned and delivered by our supportive and highly knowledgeable Sixth Form team. In this stimulating and rewarding environment, our students become confident and well-rounded young people, prepared for adult life. Throughout your time in the Sixth Form, students will be able to experience our extensive careers and enrichment programme, which will enable them to develop both personally and academically.
Through a rigorous and broad academic and pastoral support programme, the Sixth Form maintains high standards to ensure that each student can flourish in our Sixth Form and beyond.
