Jack Petchey Geography Reward Trip

On the 5th November, a group of year 9s headed to central London. They had been invited on a Geography trip with a difference by Toby Evans who was presented the Jack Petchey award for services to our subject.
We started at the Natural History Museum, first with a quick look around the galleries, then an excellent workshop on “Build the Change: Save our Planet” where students got to build solutions in Lego. I was very impressed with their creativity and the thought that went into building for example, coral reef nurseries and clean up vessels.
After presenting their ideas using the Lego microphone, year 9 set off to take a river boat tour on the Thames. We started at Westminster and headed back east to Tower Bridge and waved at many people on the bridges in between. It was a fun day and well done Toby for your continued thoughtful approach in Geography.
