Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Awards Ceremony

It was with great pleasure and delight that on Tuesday 9th December, 55 Year 10 students were awarded their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award.
They have all painstakingly completed all sections of their award and have tirelessly done all that has been asked of them to do.
To achieve the award they completed 3-6 months of volunteering, physical and skill challenges plus an expedition. The expedition required them to complete all the training and then venture around the woodlands creating memories that will stay with them forever.
It has been a privilege to be part of the team to make this happen and stand by and watch young individuals’ step up and make a difference to not only themselves but for the local community.
I would also like to thank all the members of staff. Mrs. Tompkins and her team for all the admin and support behind the scenes from the Hub. Mr. Goldsworthy, Miss. Ribaut, Mrs. O’Shea for helping with training and the expedition in their free time. Mrs. Gardner for being the relentless number two. Finally, Mrs. Richardson for running the whole show before her retirement. It continues to be huge boots to fill.
I would like to once again congratulate them on achieving their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award.
